Artist Residency/Installation Project
DEADLINE: May 5, 2008
This is an exciting opportunity for artists to propose a site specific installation in the Target Gallery. This is open to all artists nationally. This will feature an artist’s installation in progress for two weeks where the public will be invited to visit and engage the artist in dialogue about their process, followed by two weeks with the work on exhibit in the gallery. The artist must provide a gallery talk at the reception.

17th Annual National Juried Exhibition

The Juror for the competition is Ellen Harris, former Executive Director of the Aperture Foundation (a non-profit dedicated to fine art photography). She has been directly involved in the publication of books and magazines related to the arts. Ms. Harris was the Director of the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, NJ, focusing on American and Native American art. She also was the Deputy Director of the Museum of Modern Art and former the CEO of the Native American Museum in Washington, DC at the time of its founding.

First prize is $2,500. The first-prize winner and runners-up are featured on Aperture’s website for approximately one year. Winners are also announced in the foundation’s e-newsletter, which reaches thousands of subscribers in the photography community.
